Smile Makeover

A smile makeover is a customized dental treatment approach designed to improve both the appearance and function of your teeth. Rather than a single procedure, a smile makeover combines multiple cosmetic and restorative services to address concerns such as discoloration, gaps, worn teeth, misalignment, and missing teeth.

Each smile makeover plan is tailored to the individual, focusing on balance, comfort, and natural-looking results. By improving aesthetics while supporting proper oral function, a smile makeover can enhance confidence, support long-term oral health, and help patients feel more comfortable smiling, speaking, and eating.

Teeth Whitening

Professional teeth whitening is often one of the first steps in a smile makeover. Whitening treatments are designed to brighten natural teeth safely and effectively, helping reduce staining caused by food, beverages, aging, or lifestyle factors.

Depending on the treatment approach recommended by the participating dental office, whitening may be completed in-office using professional whitening systems such as Zoom Whitening, or through custom take-home whitening trays created from impressions or digital scans. These methods allow for even, controlled results while protecting tooth enamel.

Shade goals are discussed in advance so the final outcome aligns with each patient’s preferences — whether the goal is a subtle enhancement or a noticeably brighter smile.

Veneers

Dental veneers are thin restorations placed over the front surfaces of teeth to improve shape, colour, and symmetry. Traditional veneers may require some tooth preparation, while newer options may involve minimal or no preparation depending on the case.

Veneers are often used to correct chipped teeth, uneven spacing, discoloration, or worn enamel. Treatment planning may include digital previews or wax models to help visualize results before placement.

Composite Bonding

Composite bonding is a cosmetic procedure that uses tooth-coloured resin to repair chipped, cracked, or discoloured teeth. It may also be used to close small gaps or reshape teeth as part of a smile makeover.

Bonding is a conservative treatment option with minimal preparation and is often completed in a single visit. While it does not last as long as veneers or crowns, bonding can provide effective aesthetic improvement when properly maintained.

Dental Crowns (Including Same-Day Crowns)

Dental crowns, sometimes called caps, are used to restore strength, function, and appearance to damaged or weakened teeth. Crowns may also be placed on dental implants or used to support dental bridges.

Many dental offices now use digital 3D scanning technology to design crowns with greater accuracy and comfort. In some cases, same-day crowns can be created using CEREC® technology.

How CEREC Works

CEREC uses digital impressions instead of traditional molds to scan the prepared tooth. The crown is then designed using specialized software and milled from a ceramic block right in the dental office. This allows some patients to receive a custom crown in a single visit, eliminating the need for temporary crowns and multiple appointments.

Modern crowns are crafted from ceramic or porcelain materials that closely match natural teeth, providing both durability and a seamless appearance.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth by anchoring an artificial tooth to adjacent teeth or dental implants. Bridges help restore proper chewing, improve speech, prevent shifting of surrounding teeth, and maintain facial structure.

Bridges are typically completed over two visits and, with proper care, can last many years.

Planning a Smile Makeover

A smile makeover begins with a detailed consultation to evaluate oral health, discuss goals, and determine which combination of treatments is most appropriate. Digital imaging, scans, and treatment previews may be used to help guide decision-making and set clear expectations.

Smile Studio 360 helps patients explore smile makeover options and connect with a participating dental office near them that offers cosmetic and restorative dental care. Scheduling a consultation allows patients to discuss their goals and determine which combination of treatments may help them achieve a healthier, more confident smile.
