ORAL SEDATION
The prescription medications used for oral sedation are very effective. Care should be taken to follow the directions for these medications. Patients must avoid operating machinery or a motor vehicle while under the influence of these medications (18 hours). An escort for the patient to and from the dental office is required. Escort must stay with the patients for 5-6 hours after.

Eat a good meal no closer than 6 hours pre op.
Bring all the medications prescribed by this office to your appointment.
You and your escort should arrive 45 minutes early for your appointment.
You will take your oral sedative at the office under the supervision of the dentist.
Wear a short sleeve t-shirt.
Have soft food and ice packs ready at home.
You must have a responsible adult escort you home after discharge and stay with you for the rest of the day.
